TEQ District’s Driver Identification Keypads are an essential add-on for fleets where vehicles are shared among multiple drivers. The solution ensures that every trip is linked to a verified driver, delivering strong accountability, access control, and compliance across fleet operations. Each driver is assigned a unique identification code or PIN, which must be entered via the keypad before the vehicle can be operated. This removes ambiguity around driver responsibility and ensures accurate attribution of all driving and vehicle data.

How it Works

The Driver-Identification Keypad operates alongside compatible tracking devices that support 1-Wire protocols. Before deployment, authorised driver PINs are configured within the tracking device. When a driver enters their identification code, the tracking unit authenticates the driver and enables vehicle operation based on predefined rules. Once authenticated, the system records the driver ID, vehicle location, and relevant telemetry data. This information is transmitted over the GPRS network to the fleet management platform, where it becomes instantly available for monitoring and reporting.
